I might get my dfi-nf4 tomorrow, so i was just wondering which bios would b the best? I really don't want to spend like countless hours trying to guess and check w/ like a bizillion bios versions. So yea if someone could get me started on that, that'd b awesome. BTW i'm going to be running:
Opteron 146 CABYE 0540FPAW
2x512mb Gigaram Mach1000 PC3700 (TCCD) <--Same exact pair used in insanetek review (stock timings are 5:3:3:2)
256MB EVGA 6800GS
Basically my only real worry is about how to optimize my memory. I want them to run at 290mhz just like in the review, note this is also on the same board, except with a processor w/ more leeway than the reviewer's 3700+. So I should be able to run them at 290mhz no problemo right?

Just because others have seen good oc on a certain kind of ram does not mean it's a guarentee. You may only see 280's but then again you could hit more than 290. It just depends.

Note* The person I bought this board off of siad it was Angry Games' primary testing board. It scales very well with HTT, 372 MHz to be precise. However, I have no reason to believe this excellent set of PC4800 RAM would not do well with my older Ultra-D.

system is dualprime95 stable overnight, has never had an error in memtest or prime. orange slots on the mem. i have since lowered the chipset voltage to 1.68 with no ill effects. stock timings on the video cards are 470/1100 and i routinely bump those to 486/1177 which seems to be the highest to run for hours with no artifacts...but since the 7900s' are about the only thing available now i guess its a mute point. temps stay low but i run 2 side 120's and a front 120 blowing in, and a rear 120 blowing out. the chipset has a thermalrightHR05 on it and one of the side 120s keeps that blowed off and feeds the graphics cards fresh air. Its been a very stable, cool and reliable system now for 2 months and its blazing fast. the only issue is it has the coldboot bug requireing the flipping of the psu rocker switch to start it from a power off but thats a dfi/psu issue and doesnt relate to the overclock. its been rumored that a .22uf cap across the power switch leads will prevent that...i'll try it one of these days when i'm bored.

Looking for some stable setting for the 1X2GB G.Skill HZ stuff, just picked up a Lan party SLI-DR the ram will be running at around 240MHZ. Thanks!
Actually, I just seen the post a few up, does anyone think these should be changed at all for overclocking?

Been running this setup for over 6 months with no problems.

I really need to get a 2 x 1 Gig setup, anyone know of something that will be able to do the 280 FSB??

Can someone please tell me where I can read up on what some of the BIOS settings do? I admit that the last system I built was a lot easier for overclocking and this motherboard has a couple of options i'm not familiar with. I'm just looking for something to familiarize myself with some of the finer settings. The system in my sig needs some serious OC lovin!

And yes, the DFI manual is totally useless :p

right now im testing it in cl3 as well. Gonna have to fiddle with some of the lesser timings, like TRFC and TRC, but i finally got my DDS settings about right. Memtests at 272 with these timings, but wont start windows for some reason. or when it does, crashes a few seconds after. 270 seems fine with a voltage boost.

I copied this one exactly. It got me 200 mb/s on sandra. I then realized this was a little old. I have always seen these settings in my DRAM config, but never really knew wtf to do with them. Does anyone possibly know where I can find more configs like this?
