I apologize for the delay. This weekend I decided to take a big old tree down in the backyard. Have a buddy with access to a 50' boom which made it really easy but it's still been busy and I forgot about the Marathon untill this morning.

This month as I have done previously we'll be doing PCMark 07 which is one of the subcategories for this year's Team Cup. This way the team can work on something we need and maybe one the subs here will be better than what we have. So let's get to it.

What: PCMARK 07
Who: any forum member
CPU: any CPU
Cooling: any cooling type
When: Ends: September 30, 12 Midnight EST
Background: Use supplied background
Download :PCMARK 07 Rules
Full Competition Rules: Here
I would also like this format used at the top of your post please UserName/CPU/Cooling/ Score

I will post another one once my nh-d15 comes and i can push the OC more.

EDIT: I submitted this to hwbot and got 4th place did I mess something up in my submission? or was it a decent run?

No idea BMW, I haven't run that benchmark more than a couple of times.

I think I might jump the gun on that vega64 card.

CPU clock speed is at 4.1ghz.

Took the HTPC for a spin on this one to get something

i know that this benchmark involves both cpu and gpu, but based on the results here this actually appears to be mostly a gpu based benchmark.

That;\'s what we're looking for the little things that make this benchmark tick
I was only running a RX 580 not a real "screamer"

Dare I say I did a stock run just to see how it goes? Took forever, so don't expect an OC run any time soon.

Doesn't like 4.5 GHz of 16c/32 Intel, GTX 1080, nor a NVMe drive...

I don't know... considering I have a faster by speed and core/thread count cpu than BMW's along with the same gpu... not sure what to make of it.

nope, gpu weighted.
through a 1080 in with my 4790K and scored 7726 without touching a thing.

i just tried to overclock my 1080ti and i found that i could not, according to msi afterburner, reach over 1650mhz. I did notice that i got around 159 FPS in valley benchmark. But i did notice that with the afterburners OSD in valley it was showing 2038mhz. So i guess im running the GPU at 2ghz after all? confused as to why i cant raise the voltage any higher in afterburner even after typing the number in.

@ed Is it not it because of its cache though? or something about its mesh? i did do a quick one and i got results a bit lower than yours. i think it was 6800...not gonna test it right now. still prepping the AMD for another run. I feel like i can do better with it. if i cant, its cool.

So im trying to get my overclock to go over 1569mhz in this benchmark but it continues to stay at speeds between 1316mhz-1569mhz. anyone know how to get around this issue?

never mind. I think im getting a hang of this.

Overclocked CPU only from stock to all cores 5.2. Nice boost to score at 8% increase. If I play with GPU next I hope to go over 9000.

Thread updated, E_D I assumed you were using an AIO? added that to your sub

Apologies... no, custom water (3x120 + Kuplex Kryos block). I've edited/corrected it since I could. :)

Thoughts on why a 16c/32t Intel CPU at 4.5 GHz with a 1080 and NVMe drive can't beat a 2700X with the same setup even though I am 300+ Mhz faster?

I think it might have something to do with the security feature in Ryzen. When tesing against Intel Ryzen smokes them in the AIDA AES/HASH tests and there is a security part to this benchmark IIRC. Also spectre/meltdown patches hurt Intel on storage a bit.
Besides AMD Ryzen just rocks

I'd like to see a comparision on those tests and see what the results are. If so, looks like Intel needs a non spectre/meltdown patched system to be competative here.
